It might need the wrapper or you need to do the ADK fix, I have an intel 16 core laptop and had to use the ADK as DS2 has a problem with systems with a lot of cores I think (I might be wrong), but I got the black screen loading, spinning cursor then booted back to windows. For the large majority of people the issue wasn't the Windows Version but the core count 10+ and this game just doesn't want to work.
